You can't miss BioMio, on the corner of the Meatpacking District at Halmtorvet. It has a massive neon sign saying "Bosch" which has been there for years, although the restaurant itself only dates from 2009.
BioMio is an organic eatery in the eclectic and hip area of Vesterbro. Everything - from the food on the plate to the drink in the glass - is organic and in fact certified. It also has a Climate+ certification, meaning it is also climate-friendly too.
The atmosphere is very informal with comfy couches in one section and the other section wooden benches. You are not shown to a table, but get an electronic card at the entrance which records all your orders - give it to the chef or the bartender when you order. Whatever you do, don't forget to get a card or lose it, or else you'll have to pay a large amount to get out again! And one card per person - even if only one of you is paying, you still need to hand back an "empty" card for the person you're paying for.
As you can tell, you get to actually see and speak to your chef, who takes your order in the open kitchen and is happy to chat while you watch your meal being prepared.
The dishes themselves are extremely creative and delicious - the menu even show you the protein, fat and calorie content of each one, so you can easily make a wise choice.
The inspiration for the food comes from all over the world, but ingredients are primarily Danish. - Always organic and the vegetables are an integral, well-thought out part of each dish.
The price level is reasonable given the emphasis on organic food.
Reservations are taken for groups of eight or more, but there is plenty of room, so smaller groups needn't worry about not getting a table.
