Restaurant Bøf on Dronningens Tværgade serves - as the name suggests - big lovely steaks. The meat comes from cattle, which have been allowed to grow juicy and tasty on the big grassy plains of Uruguay.
And of course - as any carnivorous aficionado will know - there is only one set of accessories for a good juicy ribeye on the plate; namely French fries and sauce bearnaise. Here, Restaurant Bøf made it easy for you, because this Holy Trinity always accompanies each other - whether you order a 300 gram ribeye or the restaurant's mega ribeye (on bone) with a weight of approx. 850 grams.
However, other sauces can be bought at an extra price – as well as the opportunity to spoil your steak with a little bit of foie gras.
Apart from the steaks, however, there is a conscious focus on local, seasonal produce that will showcase itself at the peak of its’ season.
However, rare steaks are far from the only thing that has found its way to Bøf's open kitchen. Tatar is both found among the starters and as a bigger main course, while there is also a beautiful, organic barley risotto with squash and vesterhavsost for vegetarians.
In fact, the menu is deliberately easy to choose from, as there are only a handful of dishes for starters, main course and dessert – here less is more. You can either choose a la carte or order a three-course menu, where you can choose from the card.
On the drinking front there is - besides wine - a great focus on specialty beer, which matches the taste and strength of the dishes. In fact, Bøf has designed their very own draft plant - a sewage cover that fits well with the rustic, masculine style of the restaurant - from which five different special beers float freely.
The bistro is rustically decorated with brick walls; and the bar, dining benches and tables are built of heavy, massive flood bar, which previously served in Nyborg Harbor. There is also a cozy basement room, where candle lights help create a warm and cozy atmosphere, which is completely in line with the rustic bistro spirit of Restaurant Bøf.
There is also the possibility of having larger companies at Restaurant Bøf - for example, for beer tastings, where the owner, head chef and beer sommelier, Robin Alexandersen, can pass on an enjoyable and educational day at Restaurant Bøf.
