Chez Bruno lies a stone's throw from Det Ny Teater (Tthe New Theatre) on Vesterbro. The owner, Bruno Vandenbulcke, has worked at Michelin-starred Kong Hans Kælder in Copenhagen, but took the plunge a few years ago and realized his dream of creating his own brasserie with a focus on the highest quality.
And that is exactly what Bruno Vandenbulcke offers in the bright, beautiful rooms that are decorated in a French country style with mirrors, romantic atmosphere and nostalgic furniture design.
The menu offers simple dishes such as charcuterie boards with duck rillette, terrine from Alsace, dried sausages of, dried sausages with piment d'Espelette and mustard based on champagne and cornichons. Main dishes include braised veal cheeks with root vegetables and soft polenta with garlic, roast beef bavette with caramelised shallots and pomme rösti - and to finish passion fruit cake with e.g. mango fried in acacia honey and blackberry coulis.
