Restaurant Damindra in Holbergsgade has introduced innovative Japanese cuisine with star chef Taka Nishimura taking charge in the kitchen. He has previously been head chef at top Japanese restaurants in Milan and Melbourne.
The food is based on traditional, but different Japanese dishes with local ingredients as well as imported ingredients from Japan and Sri Lanka. The specialities are sushi, nigiri, yakitori and toban yaki with special emphasis on vegetables and shellfish.
The restaurant interior is modern in an exotic minimalist style with fresh flowers, black & white decor and the opportunity to sit directly in front of the chefs while they work.
Damindra also offers takeaway, and parties can be accommodated, also on Sundays when the restaurant is normally closed.
