Det Gamle Røgeri (The Old Smokehouse) in Greve is a restaurant with high ambitions; ambitions about giving their guests an unforgettable dining experience with lots of flavor on the plate and accompanying tasteful delights in the glass.
In spring of 2017, the headchef, René Trane, took over Det Gamle Røgeri, just a stone's throw from the old harbor in Greve. The new chef has several years of experience from the prestigious Hotel Saxkjøbing, partly owned by Claus Meyer, on the island of Lolland.
It's not only the kitchen experience that has followed Trane’s move from his birth island, Lolland, to Greve. The same goes for much of the produce used in the kitchen of Det Gamle Røgeri. Here they have a great focus on finding good organic producers who deliver the season's freshest ingredients and, through the subtle treatment of Trane, is transmitted from farm to table.
All benefiting the guests, who will experience the meat and vegetables packed with flavor.
The menu is not very big here – instead, the restaurant focuses on few, but tasty dishes made from the season's ever-changing highlights. Therefore, guests should use the Det Gamle Røgeri’s website to keep updated on the current menu.

The restaurant is decorated in a cozy Nordic style with white tablecloths on the tables, candles and a warm light from incandescent bulbs.
