Huset med det grønne træ (i.e. the house with the green tree) is situated on the Gammel Torv square and has taken its name from a famous novel by Kelvin LIndemann. The restaurant has existed sine 1906 and the original interior has been preserved . In front of the restaurant is a tree with green foliage during the summer. The kitchen prepares Danish quality open-faced sandwiches: sherry herring- and potatoe sandwiches with onions and bacon, cheese- and minced meat sandwich with fried egg etc. A proper, traditional Danish lunch table includes a foaming glass of draught beer and snaps. Beers come in various types and the restaurant offers no less than 14 different types of snaps. The 'house with the green tree' has take-away as well.
