No.1 owes its name to its address not to unjustified bragging - although the kitchen's ambitions certainly strive to be number one with food inspired by the classical French cuisine.
The former bodega have had a thoroughly made over and today it is a light, modern and appetizing restaurant. Morten Køster, the owner, has been at restaurants like Kong Hans, Krogs Fish Restaurant and the three star restaurant Bruneau in Bruxelles.
On the menu is a MacKøster reminding you of a burger, but this is a very special burger consisting of toasted foccacia bread with balsamico fried figs and foie gras. Take away is offered as well.
Todays special could be lamb with dild and asparagus, Moules Marinées with french fries and salted veal with buttered spring cabbage and horseradish cream. The day's special can be found on www.no-1.dk.
Larger parties such as weddings, company gatherings or suppers from 30 to 100 persons are moved to larger rooms near Nordhavn Station.
