Restaurant Peter Lieps Hus has resided in the idyllic park Dyrehaven north of Copenhagen for nearly 130 years. The restaurant is named after Peter Liep who first opened the doors to the dining place in 1888.
Today it still feels like stepping inside a bygone era. Peter Lieps Hus offers traditional Danish food, where focus is on good produce and tasty food. One senses – amongst the chefs and their food – a distinct pride in the long history of the restaurant.
For lunch the restaurant offers classic open sandwiches with herring, a tempting fish fillet with shrimp and mayonnaise or juicy beef with plenty of home-made condiments. The prices range from 79 to 89 Danish crowns per sandwich. The restaurant likewise has a selection of hot lunches - such as omelettes. There is also the option to choose the so-called Platten where you really are spoiled.
The restaurant has a good selection of beer, wine and spirits – and of course schnapps with your herring.
During the summer season Peter Lieps Hus is open in the evening as well. Here the menu is adapted to the long summer evenings. But with the many summer visitors to Dyrehaven - and the amusement park Bakken right next to - you should book a table if you want to be sure of a place in the restaurant. It is also possible to sit outside in the warm months.
Peter Lieps House is a restaurant that is steeped in history and quality in the approach to the food.
