If you want to find a little piece of Paris in Copenhagen, the Promenade, situated on Frederiksberg Alle is an obvious choice. In summer, there is a buzzing outdoor life and in winter, guests can enjoy the indoors.
It is a café with a robust brasserie kitchen. During a renovation, some beautiful old murals appeared, illustrating the many theaters that surround the area. Otherwise, the walls are painted yellow and give a warm glow throughout the restaurant, where the tables are decorated with white tablecloths and candles. There are also several pictures of Danish known actors both at ground level and in the banquet room downstairs.
The kitchen has often been mentioned in the media, and on the menu you'll find dishes such as smoked salmon with dill and lemon, goat cheese with beetroot, blackberries and hazelnuts, fried squid with lemon, parsley, almonds and courgettes and French peasant salad with crispy pork and poached eggs. And in the slightly more filling end, the moules frites; steamed mussels with French fries, tartare with mustard, tomato, capers and cognac, served with salad and fries and burger of minced beef with cheddar, tomato relish, mayo and french fries.
In addition to the restaurant, Promenaden has some glorious banquet rooms in the basement, where there is room for large groups or parties.
