The more than 100 year old Sans Souci is a classic Frederiksberg institution, where solid, Danish food and French brasserie cuisine has been served for a number of years in a cozy, homely atmosphere. In 2014 the place was taken over by the experienced restaurateurs Jacob Blom and Kristian Willumsen. At that occasion the restaurant was smartened up outside with all respect to original features, and also the kitchen has been given a boost.

The classic Danish cuisine and the French brasserie tradition remains the focal point. The key words are quality and good ingredients. The courses are carefully served on royal porcelain in proper portions, so everyone is happy. Every day there are classic Danish open sandwiches as well as small hot dishes for lunch and a varied selection of homemade Danish and French classics in the evening. Wiener Schnitzel and fried liver are always in the menu card, while the blackboard menu offers more Francophile, seasonal dishes.

The wine list has a good selection of French wines - especially from Burgundy - as well as Italian and American wines. Many are served by the glass in the wine bar to the left of the bar area, where you can have a wooden plate with charcuterie, bar snacks and sandwiches right up till closing time.

Although much is new at Sans Souci, the soul is still intact. The service is professional, adult and empathetic. You feel welcome, whether you are a young student or a mature lady from Frederiksberg.
