The Japanese cuisine, we mainly know for its sushi, but Japan has many other culinary specialties to offer, and it can be experienced at Restaurant Sukiyaki in Vesterbro. Here you have specialized in, among other teppanyaki. A teppanyaki is a large, frying plate where they guests sit around it and fry meat, fish and vegetables on this large plate.
You can sit around 10 people the teppanyaki tables and it is very entertaining to watch and not to mention delicious to eat. If you do not have teppanyaki, you can sit down at one of the other tables in the restaurant and try some of the other Japanese specialties.
The restaurant's name Sukiyaki is also the name of a stew, cooked at the table where you cook thinly sliced meat, vegetables and noodles in a broth. In addition you get raw eggs and various dips, miso soup and rice. Both teppanyaki, sukiyaki and other traditional dishes are available as part of a menu. You can choose a wide range of traditional Japanese food from the a la carte menu like sashimi, tempura, noodle dishes and traditional sushi.
In addition you can choose from a small selection of wines, but try also Umeshu (plum wine), shochu (spirits) or sake and the good Japanese beer.
