Originally established as a café for cinemagoers in Cinemateket, the Danish Film Institute, the number of visitors who just come to the restaurant exceeds the number of diners who eat there before or after seeing a film. So there must be a reason - and it is surely the pleasant, informal atmosphere and the great food made mostly with organic ingredients and served in small portions sized for sharing. The tapas-sized dishes have Asian inspiration, but there are also more solid options such as burgers, rib eye steaks and a DIsh of the Day.
The weekend brunch is so popular that reservations are necessary. And brunch prices are according to age - perfect for children. Sult (the name means "Hunger" in Danish) also functions as a cafe all day and in the evening, so coffee and a delicious slice of cake are just as possible as a full 12 course dinner. Drinks on offer include lemonade, smoothies, organic juice and special bottled and cask beer.
The wine list has a good selection from French, Italian and American vineyards. Many are imported directly, meaning that some real bargains can be had. The restaurant is also suitable for small and large parties from 10 to 250 people, and there are also meeting rooms and conference rooms elsewhere in the building for anything up to 180 people.
